2021 Student Grants

At the last meeting of the year for the Venice Nokomis Woman’s Club, 3 out of the 4 Venice High School Students were on hand to receive their scholarships funds, totaling $6,000.

Leilani Longoria and Casey Morehead each received $1,000 to pursue 2 year Nursing degrees at State College of FL and Suncoast Technical College respectively.

Kaela Coye received $2,000 to pursue a Speech and Language degree at State College of FL and Madison Johnson received $2,000 to pursue Early Childhood Education at Southeastern Univ.

Each of these outstanding young women excelled in their Venice High School classes and are involved in a variety of volunteer projects, along with various after school jobs and are a credit to their school and families.

This year’s winning students were selected by the Club’s Scholarship Committee aided by Julie Pinkerton of Rotary Futures College Resource Center at Venice High School. Who by the way is retiring at the end of the school year. She will truly be missed. Caitlin Joyner will be the new Rotary Futures Program advisor and liaison to the VNWC.
